CTET 2019 was conducted on July 7, 2019. CTET exam comprised of two tests, that is, Paper-I and Paper-II. Both the tests were conducted on the same day. CTET 2019 Paper I was held from 2 pm to 4:30 pm whereas CTET 2019 Paper II was conducted from 9:30 am to 12 noon. Both the CTET exams were of two and a half hours duration.

CTET exam was conducted across 92 test cities in India and two test centres abroad, which were, Dubai and Riyadh. Sources share that CTET 2019 was conducted at 2,144 test centres spread all over the country and a total of 17 lakh students gave CTET exam.

CTET exam needs to be given by candidates who want to become teachers. Paper I of CTET exam is given by aspirants who want to teach Class I to Class V and Paper II of the Central Teacher Eligibility Test needs to be given by candidates who want to teach Class VI to Class VIII.

Candidates who took CTET 2019 shared that the difficulty level of the Central Teacher Eligibility Test was Moderate. However, many students shared that compared to the last edition of CTET exam, the test conducted this year was fairly easy.

CTET exam pattern is such that aspirants need to attempt 150 questions in 150 minutes duration. The exam pattern for Paper I and Paper II of CTET 2019 is shared below:

CTET Exam Analysis Highlights 2019

  • Questions asked in the Child Development & Pedagogy section were from topics such as learning & pedagogy. This year, in CTET exam lesser number of practical questions were asked in this section. The difficulty level of the questions asked in this section of the exam was Moderate.
  • In the Social Studies CTET exam section, questions were asked from topics related to Political Science and Geography. This year, more questions were asked from polity as compared to past years’ papers. The difficulty level of the questions asked in this section of the exam ranged from Easy to Moderate.
  • No major changes were witnessed in the English language section. So, the difficulty level of the questions asked in this section was similar to past years’ question papers. The passages asked in CTET exam were lengthy.
  • The questions asked in the Science section were mostly from Biology and the difficulty level of the questions asked was Moderate. This section of the exam contained more questions from Biology and Earth Science topics.
  • The questions asked in the Mathematics section were mostly from Arithmetic and the difficulty level of the questions asked was Moderate.
  • Questions asked in the Hindi language section were easier as compared to questions asked in the same section in previous editions of the exam.
